Rapper Kanye West paid tribute to Marc’s Abloh in a brief yet very moving video on his Twitter account on Saturday.
West narrated a short clip filmed at Abloh’s 2018 Fall/Winter New York Fashion Week show.
Yeezy collaborated with Abloh on a range of his highly-anticipated YEEZY season 4 sneaker line and also has a line of Yeezy clothing.
It’s the same collection Abloh designed for Adidas.
West had earlier opened New York Fashion Week with his highly anticipated YEEZY fashion collection and dedicated a song to his friend.
Speaking after the show, he said: “I love Marc and I wanted to dedicate this song to my friend Marc [Abloh]. Don’t try to fix him, Marc’s perfect.”
The couple had their falling out during Paris Fashion Week in 2017 when West stormed the runway, announcing he wanted to take “the stage”.
But when it came to Abloh, a famed member of the New York fashion scene, the rapper decided to stop wearing his YEEZY collection and his choice to collab with Adidas, which he formerly worked with, made matters worse.
West showed his allegiance to Abloh recently by wearing a YEEZY season 5 jacket, though it appears this trip into the sneakers lane may soon be over.
